Utility Locate Technician

Location:             Nationwide

Position Type:     Full-Time/Regular.

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a reliable person with a strong work ethic who is familiar with the construction/utility jobsite environment that we can train. Upon successful completion of your training you will have the option to upgrade to a Level I GPR Technician, prepare work orders, and other work documents in a timely and accurate manner, understand and utilizes safe work practices. Required Skills include: exceptional safety and quality awareness, mechanically inclined, good problem solving, flexibility with schedule, detail oriented, and ability to follow process and procedures, willingness to travel to out-of-town assignments.

Though not a certification level, an Utility Locate Technician (ULT) is a person who is in the process of being initially trained, qualified and certified, and should work with a certified individual. 

The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform underground utility locating using Electro-Magnetic-Induction, learn to Interpret results and prepare documenting results.
  • Maintain client contact for ongoing projects and interface with the trainer to coodinate/perform field testing activities.

  • Perform other related duties as required to meet departmental and company goals.

OTHER AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Conduct testing in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and our company’s Health and Safety Policy, and that promotes the safety and protection of employees, clients and the public.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Some positions may require use of personal vehicle for company business.
  • Frequent travel required within regional area.
  • Frequent out-of-town travel.
  • Work irregular hours as needed, occasionally for an extended length of time, weekends may be required.
  • Properly use and maintain company instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate physicals.
  • Maintain the quality of service and work product.
  • Coordinate with other NGPRS staff with the ultimate goal of increasing efficiency, productivity and communication.
  • Obtain required manufacturer operator certification.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Aptitude for technical skills required, previous experience in utility locating, or commercial construction preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and computer knowledge.
  • Attention to detail and quality of service required.

Ground Penetrating Radar - Level I Technician

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) - Level II Technician 

Location:             Multiple Locations Nationwide

Position Type      Full-Time/Regular.

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a reliable person with a strong work ethic who is familiar with the construction/utility jobsite environment that has previous experience operating GPR. You will be expected to work independently on job sites, prepare reports and other work documents in a timely and accurate manner, understand and utilize safe work practices. Required Skills include: exceptional safety and quality awareness, mechanically inclined, good problem solving, flexibility with schedule, detail oriented, and ability to follow process and procedures, willingness to travel to out-of-town assignments.

Individual should be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications. The GPRLevel II should be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which he/she is qualified and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Apprentice and GPR Level I personnel. The GPR Level II should be able to organize and report the results of GPR tests.

Ground Penetrating Radar - Level III Technician

Location:             Multiple Locations Nationwide

Individual should be capable of developing, qualifying and approving procedures, establishing and approving techniques, interpreting codes, standards, specifications and procedures, as well as designating the particular GPR methods, techniques and procedures to be used. The GPR Level III should be responsible for the GPR operations for which he/she is qualified and assigned and should be capable of interpreting and evaluating results in terms of existing codes, standards and specifications. The GPR Level III should have sufficient practical background in applicable materials, fabrication and product technology to establish techniques and to assist in establishing acceptance criteria when none are otherwise available. The GPR Level III should have general familiarity with other appropriate NDT methods, as demonstrated by an ASNT Level III Basic examination or other means. The GPR Level III, in the methods in which he/she is certified, should be capable of training and examining GPR Level I and II personnel for certification in those methods.

    • Graduated from a minimum four-year college or university curriclulum with a degree in engineering or a physical science, plus one year (12) months) of experience in GPR in an assignment comparable to that of a Level II in GPR.
    • Completed with passing grades at least two full academic school years of engineering or a physical science study at a university, college, or technical school, plus two years (24 months) of experience in GPR test methods in an assisgment comparable to that of a Level II in GPR.
    • Four years (48 months) of experience in an assignment at least comparable to that of a Level II in GPR test methods.
  • Demonsrate experience: estimating projects, drafting proposals, and preparing submittal reports.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and computer knowledge.
  • Attention to detail and quality of service required.
  • Willing to travel on short notice-50%
  • Physically capable of the physical labor required, with personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to: Occasionally move 50-70 pounds.

Project Manager 

Location:             Burnsville, Minnesota

Position Type:     Full-Time/Regular.

DESCRIPTION:

The Project Manager works with company Site Superintendents, Field Staff and Executive Staff to assist in the following: acts as a liaison with Owners, Architects, Engineering and Clients regarding project feasibility, cost, scheduling, completion, and close-out for multiple private and public projects. This position is also responsible for project development participation, pre-project, project and post-project. Project Manager will also maintain constant and effective communications with team members, internal/external customers and vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Implements programs (i.e. Safety, Scheduling, Monitoring) to comply with legal, regulatory and standards of construction requirements.
  • Works with PM and Site Superintendant to manage projects, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to meet deadlines, and owner expectations.
  • Leads with Vision of the end goal and pragmatic decision-making.
  • Is an effective communicator, good at planning and organizing and has technical and professional knowledge. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years experience in commercial construction management required.
  • Prior experience as Assistant Project Manager level or above, managing project budgets, and other work activities. Preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of principles of project management for building construction; theory, principles and practices of engineering and architecture related to design and construction. Preferred but not required.
